Coffeeco Upcycle is delighted to announce the launch of a strategic partnership with Public Café Restaurant, as part of their shared commitment to promoting sustainability and circular economy principles. This collaboration aims to introduce an innovative solution to the previously unaddressed challenge of managing coffee waste, by transforming it into raw materials for the production of innovative and eco-friendly skincare products.
This pioneering partnership seeks to implement a new model of circular economy focused on reducing waste volume and maximizing resource utilization. Until now, the value of coffee has been limited to the creation of beverages, following a traditional production-consumption chain. With this new business collaboration, the chain extends further by upcycling coffee waste, leading to the creation of new products that offer added value to consumers and maximize the economic benefits derived from coffee.
Specifically, Coffeeco Upcycle will collect coffee residues from Public Café Restaurant, which will then undergo specialized processing to be transformed into raw materials for skincare products. This process not only reduces the ecological footprint of waste but also leads to the creation of innovative products that combine high quality with respect for the environment.
As part of this new collaboration, visitors to Public Café Restaurant will have the opportunity to discover and purchase products from the Auraskin line—Coffeeco Upcycle’s eco-friendly skincare range—right on-site. This process completes the coffee journey in the most innovative way, from production to consumption, and then to upcycling and the creation of new products.
Recycled coffee extract will be the key ingredient in Auraskin’s high-quality skincare products, including body scrubs, body butter, hand creams, facial sunscreens, and SPF lip balms. These products harness the natural beneficial properties of coffee for the skin, offering exfoliating and moisturizing benefits, as well as supporting the skin’s microbiome. Auraskin’s body butter, in particular, is known for its ability to enhance the skin’s natural balance, leaving it healthy and radiant.
This groundbreaking process not only reduces the environmental footprint of coffee production but also promotes sustainability through the upcycling of resources. Coffeeco Upcycle is widely recognized for its scientific approach to sustainability, actively participating in international forums such as the C4CEC (Center for Circular Economy in Coffee), Cosmoprof-Bologna, and World of Coffee-Copenhagen. Additionally, the company has been honored with awards such as the Green Alley European Awards, underscoring its commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.
The initiative between Coffeeco Upcycle and Public Café Restaurant promises to have a significant environmental impact, reinforcing the principles of circular economy and sustainability. By reducing waste and reusing resources, it not only contributes to sustainability in the hospitality and skincare sectors but also raises consumer awareness of the need for responsible consumption and upcycling. This innovative solution allows consumers to combine their love for coffee with skincare, while also supporting sustainability and environmental protection efforts.
